Cortisol Antibody (CORT-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Cortisol of human origin by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Cortisol antibody (CORT-1) is available as a non-conjugated format, providing researchers with a reliable tool for studying this critical hormone. Cortisol, the most potent glucocorticoid produced by the human adrenal cortex, plays a vital role in the body′s response to stress. Cortisol is synthesized from cholesterol, with production stimulated by pituitary adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), which is regulated by corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF). The intricate balance of these hormones is essential for maintaining homeostasis, as high Cortisol levels trigger a negative feedback loop that inhibits ACTH and CRF secretion. In the bloodstream, most Cortisol binds with high affinity to corticosteroid binding globulin (CBG), also known as transcortin, which helps regulate bioavailability. Cortisol acts through specific intracellular receptors, influencing various physiological processes, including blood pressure and blood sugar modulation, while suppressing immune responses. Understanding Cortisol dynamics and interactions is crucial for elucidating stress response and related disorders, making Cortisol monoclonal antibody (CORT-1) an invaluable research tool.
