CD74 Antibody (OX4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CD74 in mouse and rat samples through applications such as immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD74, also known as the invariant chain, plays a crucial role in the immune system by regulating the loading of peptides onto major histocompatibility complex class II (MHC II) molecules. This process is vital for the proper presentation of antigens to T lymphocytes, which is essential for initiating adaptive immune responses. CD74 is predominantly expressed in B lymphocytes and is also found in a subset of T lymphocytes, highlighting CD74′s importance in both humoral and cellular immunity. CD74 expression on immune cells not only facilitates the transport of MHC II to the endosomal compartment but also influences the activation and differentiation of T cells, making CD74 a key player in immune regulation. With a broad expression profile and critical function in antigen presentation, CD74 serves as an important marker for studying immune responses and potential therapeutic targets in various diseases.
