SEE ALSO...

WAPL Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects WAPL protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). WAPL (A-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. WAPL protein, also known as wings apart-like or WAPAL, is a 1,190 amino acid protein characterized by the presence of one WAPL domain and is expressed in two alternatively spliced isoforms, with one isoform predominantly localized to the nucleus. This nuclear localization enables WAPL to play a significant role in regulating sister-chromatid cohesion during cell division, which is essential for maintaining genomic stability. Aberrations in this process can lead to an increased risk of cancer development and metastasis, highlighting the importance of WAPL in cellular growth and tumorigenesis. The gene encoding WAPL is located on human chromosome 10, a region that harbors over 1,200 genes and is implicated in various genetic disorders, including Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2.
