Vindesine, a member of the vinca alkaloid family from vincristine, a natural alkaloid found in the periwinkle plant. Its mechanism of action involves the disruption of microtubules within cancer cells, thereby impeding their division and growth. Microtubules are essential cellular structures responsible for cell movement and division. Vindesine exerts its effect by binding to these microtubules and causing their disruption, effectively halting the division and growth of cancer cells.
