Vasohibin-1 Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects Vasohibin-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Vasohibin-1 (C-6) antibody is available as non-conjugated anti-Vasohibin-1 antibody. Vasohibin-1 plays a crucial role in regulating angiogenesis, which is essential for normal physiological processes such as wound healing and tissue repair, as well as in pathological conditions like cancer. This secreted protein is primarily expressed in endothelial cells, particularly in brain and placental tissues, where Vasohibin-1 is involved in a self-regulating feedback mechanism that inhibits angiogenesis in an autocrine manner. By inhibiting endothelial cell proliferation, migration, and network formation, Vasohibin-1 serves as a critical endogenous inhibitor that balances effects of pro-angiogenic factors like vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and fibroblast growth factor 2. Notably, while Vasohibin-1 does not influence cancer cell proliferation in vitro, Vasohibin-1 has been shown to inhibit tumor growth and angiogenesis, highlighting potential as a therapeutic target in cancer treatment.
