    SEE ALSO...

vanin-1 Antibody (407) is a rat monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Vanin-1 of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). vanin-1 (407) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Vanin-1 plays a crucial role as a membrane-bound pantetheinase enzyme, primarily involved in the hydrolysis of pantetheine, which is essential for the recycling of vitamin B5. This enzymatic activity not only facilitates the regeneration of an important nutrient but also produces cysteamine, a potent antioxidant that contributes to cellular protection under normal physiological conditions. The expression of Vanin-1 is particularly significant in male Sertoli cells of the developing testis, where Vanin-1 aids in the migration of precursor cells, highlighting its importance in reproductive health. Additionally, Vanin-1 is found in various human tissues, including the spleen, liver, and small intestine, suggesting Vanin-1′s involvement in vitamin B5 salvage pathways. The gene encoding human Vanin-1 is located on chromosome 6q23-q24, and Vanin-1 is part of a family that includes vanin-2 and vanin-3, which may have overlapping or distinct biological functions.

How can vanin-1 (407): sc-23907 mouse monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

    Asked by: Cweed
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-23907 PE) or fluoroscein (sc-23907 FITC).
