Urocortin III Antibody (C3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects urocortin III protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-urocortin III antibody (C3) is available as the non-conjugated format. Urocortin III, a member of the corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) family, plays a crucial role in regulating stress responses and appetite. Urocortin III is primarily expressed in the brain, particularly in the midbrain, as well as in the heart, pituitary gland, adrenal gland, gastrointestinal tract, ovary, spleen, and kidney. Urocortin III localization in the brain suggests direct involvement in modulating behaviors related to feeding, anxiety, and auditory processing. Urocortin III acts as a specific ligand for the CRF type 2 receptor, which mediates stress-coping responses, highlighting urocortin III importance in neuroendocrine regulation of stress. Synthetic human urocortin III has shown high-affinity binding to CRH receptors and can stimulate adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) release from dispersed rat anterior pituitary cells in vitro. Urocortin III gene is located on human chromosome 2, emphasizing urocortin III relevance in human physiology and potential implications in stress-related disorders.
