TREK-2 Antibody (1C1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the TREK-2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TREK-2 antibody (1C1) is available as a non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. TREK-2, also known as TWIK-related K+ channel 2, is a member of the tandem-pore potassium channel family, which plays a crucial role in maintaining the resting membrane potential and regulating cellular excitability. TREK-2 monoclonal antibody (1C1) targets a protein particularly important in the central nervous system, where TREK-2 contributes to neuronal signaling and the modulation of synaptic transmission. TREK-2 is primarily localized in the cerebellum, spleen, and testis, and TREK-2′s expression in these tissues underscores its significance in various physiological processes, including sensory transduction and the response to mechanical stimuli. TREK-2 consists of 538 amino acids and features two pore-forming domains and four transmembrane segments, which are essential for its function as a potassium channel. TREK-2 exhibits inward rectification and is activated by arachidonic acid and other unsaturated fatty acids, highlighting TREK-2′s role in cellular responses to metabolic changes. With a 65% amino acid sequence identity to TREK-1, TREK-2′s unique properties and tissue distribution make TREK-2 a valuable target for research in neurobiology and related fields.
