Toso Antibody (RR-16) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects the Toso protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Toso antibody (RR-16) is available as the non-conjugated form. Toso (RR-16) antibody recognizes a protein that plays a crucial role in regulating apoptosis, particularly in the context of cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL)-mediated immune responses. By blocking apoptosis induced by members of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) family, including FAS, Toso (RR-16) monoclonal antibody targets a protein essential for maintaining T cell survival during immune activation. This function is particularly important as it allows CTLs to effectively target and eliminate virus-infected or transformed cells without undergoing self-destruction. Toso (RR-16) antibody detects a protein expressed on the surface of various lymphoid cells, where it interacts with FAS and its ligand, thereby modulating the apoptotic signals that would otherwise lead to T cell death. Understanding Toso′s role in these processes not only highlights its significance in immune regulation but also suggests its potential as a therapeutic target in diseases characterized by dysregulated apoptosis, such as cancer and autoimmune disorders.
