TEF-1 Antibody (H-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TEF-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TEF-1 (H-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Transcriptional enhancer factor 1 (TEF-1), a member of the TEA/ATTS domain family, is a nuclear protein that plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression across various cell types. Notably, TEF-1 is involved in binding to specific DNA sequences, including GT-IIC, SphI/II, and M-CAT, as well as the proximal regulatory element of transforming growth factor-alpha, which is often overexpressed in numerous cancers. TEF-1′s ability to repress transcription in placental cells highlights its significance in developmental biology. Additionally, TEF-1 undergoes post-translational modifications, particularly phosphorylation by several protein kinase C isozymes, which occurs at serine and threonine residues. This phosphorylation event reduces TEF-1′s DNA-binding capability, suggesting a potential regulatory role in cellular signaling pathways and tumorigenesis. TEF-1′s capacity to dimerize may be essential for its function as a transcriptional regulator, underscoring its importance in gene expression modulation and cellular processes.
