SEE ALSO...

SREBP-1 Antibody (F-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects SREBP-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SREBP-1 Antibody (F-10) is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile use in research settings. SREBP-1, also known as ADD1 (adipocyte determination and differentiation factor), plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by regulating the expression of genes involved in cholesterol and fatty acid synthesis. SREBP-1 is synthesized as a precursor that is anchored to the nuclear envelope and endoplasmic reticulum. Upon depletion of cellular sterol levels, SREBP-1 precursor undergoes proteolytic cleavage, releasing a soluble NH2-terminal fragment that translocates to the nucleus to activate transcription of target genes, including the low-density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor. The LDL receptor is essential for the endocytic uptake of cholesterol-carrying lipoproteins, thereby maintaining cellular and plasma cholesterol homeostasis. Notably, SREBP-1 activity is tightly regulated by sterol levels, as excess sterols inhibit SREBP-1 cleavage, highlighting SREBP-1′s importance in cellular lipid regulation and potential implications in metabolic disorders.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-365514 P appropriate for?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
