SNARK Antibody (C-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SNARK protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SNARK (C-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SNARK protein, also known as NUAK2 (NUAK family, SNF1-like kinase, 2), is a 628 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in cellular responses to stress, particularly in glucose starvation. SNARK functions as a member of the serine/threonine protein kinase family and contains a protein kinase domain that utilizes magnesium as a cofactor to catalyze ATP-dependent phosphorylation of target proteins. This phosphorylation regulates various cellular functions, including cell division and apoptosis. SNARK promotes cell-cell detachment, which may enhance motility and invasiveness of tumor cells, contributing to cancer progression. SNARK′s ability to modulate these processes underscores its importance in both normal cellular function and pathological conditions, making anti-SNARK antibody (C-12) an essential tool for researchers studying cancer biology and cellular stress responses.

Can SNARK (C-12): sc-374348 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. Yes, SNARK (C-12): sc-374348 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
