SKI-1 Antibody (A-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects SKI-1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SKI-1 antibody (A-11) is available as the non-conjugated form. SKI-1, also known as subtilisin/kexin-isozyme-1, plays a crucial role in processing inactive precursors into active peptides and proteins, functioning as a type I membrane-bound calcium-dependent serine proteinase. SKI-1 is particularly important in cleaving the brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) precursor, which is essential for neuronal survival, growth, and differentiation. SKI-1 is present in various tissues, with highest concentrations found in the liver and thyroid, underscoring SKI-1′s significance in physiological processes.
