SCP-3 Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b light chain antibody that detects SCP-3 in mouse and rat samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SCP-3 plays a crucial role in meiosis, specifically as a component of the synaptonemal complex, which is essential for chromosome pairing and recombination during meiotic prophase. SCP-3 (G-3) antibody localizes primarily in the nucleus of testicular meiotic prophase cells and primordial germ cells, where anti-SCP-3 antibody (G-3) facilitates the proper alignment and segregation of homologous chromosomes. SCP-3 maintains chromosomal integrity during meiosis, acting as a sister chromatid arm cohesin during mammalian meiosis I, ensuring accurate chromosome pairing and recombination. Notably, SCP-3 features a C-terminal coiled-coil domain that promotes homotypic interactions, which are critical for the structural stability of the synaptonemal complex. Expression of SCP-3 begins in leptotene-stage spermatocytes and is lost in late meiotic cells, highlighting a transient yet essential role in the meiotic process. SCP-3 monoclonal antibody (G-3) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying meiosis and chromosomal dynamics.
