SEE ALSO...

Progesterone Antibody (11P14) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects the Progesterone protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Progesterone antibody (11P14) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Progesterone is a crucial C-21 steroid hormone that plays a vital role in the female menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and embryogenesis, being primarily produced in the adrenal glands, gonads, brain, and placenta during pregnancy. Progesterone′s importance lies not only in regulatory functions but also in interaction with the Progesterone receptor, a membrane-bound member of the steroid receptor superfamily that mediates the hormone′s physiological effects. The Progesterone receptor gene (PGR) generates two nearly identical isoforms, PRA and PRB, through distinct promoters and translational start sites, each acting as unique transcription factors that regulate specific response genes with minimal overlap. These isoforms consist of a modulating N-terminal domain, a DNA binding domain, and a C-terminal steroid binding domain, which are essential for their function in gene expression and cellular response to hormonal signals.
