PCDHA5 Antibody (S-03) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects PCDHA5 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PCDHA5 antibody (S-03) is available as the non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. Protocadherins, including PCDHA5, play a crucial role in the establishment and maintenance of neuronal connections, which are vital for proper brain function and communication between neurons. PCDHA5, a member of the protocadherin alpha family, is a 936 amino acid single-pass type I membrane protein characterized by the presence of six cadherin domains. PCDHA5 localization at the cell membrane allows functioning as a calcium-dependent cell-adhesion protein, particularly at synaptic junctions, where PCDHA5 is essential for facilitating specific cell-cell interactions. PCDHA5 is expressed in three isoforms generated through alternative splicing, which may contribute to the diversity of functional roles in neuronal connectivity and signaling pathways.
