  • raised against amino acids 401-596 mapping near the C-terminus of PANK1 of human origin
  • PANK1/2 Antibody (C-4) is recommended for detection of PANK1 and PANK2 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA; also reactive with additional species, including and bovine and porcine
  • Anti-PANK1/2 Antibody (C-4) is available conjugated to agarose for IP; HRP for WB, IHC(P) and ELISA; and to either phycoerythrin or FITC for IF, IHC(P) and FCM
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488, Alexa Fluor® 546, Alexa Fluor® 594 or Alexa Fluor® 647 for WB (RGB), IF, IHC(P) and FCM, and for use with RGB fluorescent imaging systems, such as iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 680 or Alexa Fluor® 790 for WB (NIR), IF and FCM; for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR®Odyssey®, iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for PANK1/2 Antibody (C-4) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with PANK1/2 Antibody (C-4) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

    SEE ALSO...

PANK1/2 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PANK1/2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PANK1/2 (C-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The PANK (pantothenate kinase) proteins are crucial for the physiological regulation of intracellular coenzyme A (CoA) concentrations, which are vital for numerous metabolic pathways, including fatty acid synthesis and energy production. PANK1 and PANK2, consisting of 598 and 570 amino acids respectively, exist as four alternatively spliced isoforms, with PANK2 being ubiquitously expressed while isoform 1 of PANK1 is predominantly found in the brain, heart, kidney, liver, skeletal muscle, and testis, and isoform 2 is expressed in kidney, liver, brain, and testis. The genes encoding PANK1 and PANK2 are located on human chromosomes 10q23.3 and 20p13, respectively. Notably, defects in PANK2 are linked to several serious conditions, including hypoprebetalipoproteinemia, acanthocytosis, retinitis pigmentosa, and pallidal degeneration (HARP), as well as neurodegeneration with brain iron accumulation type 1 (NBIA1), an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by iron accumulation in the basal ganglia, which can lead to significant neurological impairment.

What blocking solution should I use with PANK1/2 (C-4): sc-390595 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

    Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
