    SEE ALSO...

ORP-1 Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects ORP-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ORP-1 (B-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ORP-1, a member of the OSBP (oxysterol-binding protein) family, plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism and cellular signaling, particularly in lipid transport within cells. ORP-1 is primarily located in the endoplasmic reticulum and can translocate to the Golgi apparatus in response to oxysterol binding, which is vital for maintaining cellular lipid homeostasis and facilitating vesicle transport. ORP-1 features a highly conserved OSBP-type sterol-binding region and a pleckstrin homology domain, allowing interactions with various lipids, including phosphatidic acid and phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate. Three isoforms of ORP-1 arise from alternative splicing, with ORP-1A being specifically expressed in the retina, brain, and other select tissues, while ORP-1B is more ubiquitously expressed, highlighting ORP-1′s diverse functional roles across different biological contexts.
