    SEE ALSO...

OPLAH Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects OPLAH in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-OPLAH antibody (E-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. OPLAH, also known as 5-oxoprolinase (ATP-hydrolysing), plays a critical role in the gamma-glutamyl cycle, which is essential for the synthesis and metabolism of glutathione, a key antioxidant that regulates amino acid transport and protects cells from oxidative stress. This enzyme catalyzes the conversion of 5-oxo-L-proline to L-glutamate, a reaction that is coupled with ATP hydrolysis, highlighting OPLAH′s importance in cellular energy metabolism and amino acid homeostasis. OPLAH is a 1,288 amino acid protein that functions as a homodimer and is predominantly expressed in the kidney, with lower expression levels found in the lung, breast, colon, and ovary. The gene encoding OPLAH is located on human chromosome 8, which is associated with various diseases, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and congenital hypothyroidism, underscoring OPLAH′s potential relevance in both health and disease.
