NUDT5, also known by its alternative names including YSA1, YSA1H, hYSAH1, nudix motif 5, ADP-sugar pyrophosphatase, or HSPC115, is a 219 amino acid protein that belongs to the nudix hydrolase family. NUDT5 plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism by hydrolyzing ADP-ribose and ADP-mannose in the presence of magnesium, as well as exhibiting low activity against other nucleotide sugars like ADP-glucose and diadenosine diphosphate.
