Nucleoporin p62 Antibody (1B6) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects nucleoporin p62 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Nucleoporin p62 plays a crucial role in the nuclear transport system, acting as a key component of the nuclear pore complex that regulates the selective transport of proteins and RNA between the nucleus and cytoplasm. Strategic location within the nuclear envelope allows nucleoporin p62 to facilitate the docking of karyopherin complexes, which are essential for the import of proteins into the nucleus. Additionally, nucleoporin p62 is involved in the export of nascent mRNA strands, highlighting dual functionality in nucleocytoplasmic transport. The interaction of nucleoporin p62 with other proteins, such as nuclear transport factor 2 (NTF2), underscores importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating gene expression. Anti-nucleoporin p62 antibody (1B6) enables researchers to gain valuable insights into the mechanisms of nuclear transport and the implications of dysregulation in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.

I am using nucleoporin p62 (1B6): sc-101542 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
