NNP-1 Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NNP-1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NNP-1 (A-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The novel nuclear protein 1 (NNP-1), also referred to as RRP1-like protein or nucleolar protein Nop52, is a 461 amino acid protein that belongs to the RRP1 family and is primarily localized in the nucleolus. This localization is crucial as NNP-1 plays a significant role in the late processing steps of ribosome biogenesis, particularly in the generation of 28S rRNA. During the cell cycle, particularly at the end of mitosis, nucleolar proteins, including NNP-1, assemble in a specific order to rebuild the nucleolus, with NNP-1 assembling after Fibrillarin and C23, and concurrently with B23 and POP1 in the prenucleolar body pathway. The proper functioning of NNP-1 is essential for maintaining ribosomal RNA synthesis and, consequently, protein synthesis, which is vital for cell growth and function.
