NCKX2 Antibody (F-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects NCKX2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NCKX2 (F-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NCKX2, also known as solute carrier family 24, member 2 (SLC24A2), plays a vital role in neuronal function by regulating calcium levels, particularly in cone photoreceptors of the retina and hippocampal pyramidal cells. NCKX2 is crucial for light adaptation, facilitating the transport of one calcium ion and one potassium ion in exchange for four sodium ions, thereby maintaining calcium homeostasis in response to varying light conditions. NCKX2 regulation of calcium levels is essential not only for visual processing but also for neuronal signaling in areas that experience rapid calcium fluxes, such as synapses. Disruption of NCKX2 function can lead to imbalances in sodium and calcium concentrations, which may have significant implications for neuronal health and function under different physiological states.
