Nanaomycin αA is a selective Dnmt3b inhibitor with antibiotic, antimycoplasmic, and antifugal properties. Nanaomycin αA is also an inducer of antiproliferative effects in tumor cell lines and a Ras-competitive non-CAAX mimetic type farnesyltransferase (FTase) inhibitor. Originating from Streptomyces, Nanaomycin αA is classified as a quinone bacterial metabolite. In addition, Nanaomycin αA also inhibits growth of the plant pathogenic fungus P. oryzae.
