N-Myc Antibody (3C165) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects N-Myc in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). N-Myc is a critical member of the Myc family of oncogenes, which play a pivotal role in cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. N-Myc is primarily located in the nucleus, where N-Myc functions as a transcription factor regulating gene expression involved in cell growth and metabolism. This nuclear localization is essential for N-Myc′s role in oncogenesis, as N-Myc interacts with various transcriptional co-factors and chromatin remodeling complexes, thereby influencing the transcription of target genes that drive tumorigenesis. Notably, aberrant expression of N-Myc is frequently associated with aggressive forms of neuroblastoma, making N-Myc a significant biomarker for this cancer type. Anti-N-Myc antibody (3C165) provides a reliable tool for researchers studying the molecular mechanisms of cancer and the functional dynamics of N-Myc.

How much sample do you recommend loading on the gel for Western blot detection using N-Myc (3C165): sc-71633?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
We recommend loading 40–60 µg whole cell lysate, 10–20 µg nuclear extract, 5-10 µg transfected lysate, or 10–20 ng purified protein per lane. A link to our complete Western blotting protocol is provided here for your reference: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
