Myeloperoxidase Inhibitor-I is a benzoic acid hydrazide analog acting as an irreversible and specific inhibitor of the peroxidation activity of MPO. Myeloperoxidase Inhibitor-I shows no effect in inhibition of catalase or glutathione peroxidase activities. Shows no effect on the production of superoxide by neutrophils. Shown to inhibit H2O2-induced apoptosis in HL-60.
