MSK2 Antibody (F-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MSK2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MSK2 (F-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MSK2, also known as ribosomal protein S6 kinase, 90kDa, polypeptide 4 (RPS6KA4) or RSKB, is a 772 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways. MSK2 is primarily located in the nucleus, where MSK2 is involved in the regulation of growth-factor and stress-induced transcriptional activation. MSK2 functions as a serine/threonine kinase, utilizing magnesium as a cofactor to catalyze the ATP-dependent phosphorylation of target proteins, which is essential for modulating various cellular processes such as cell division, apoptosis, and homeostasis. MSK2′s nuclear localization enables direct influence on gene expression in response to external stimuli, thereby impacting cellular responses to growth factors and stress. Multiple isoforms of MSK2 arise from alternative splicing, allowing for diverse regulatory functions within the cell.
