MRP-L44 Antibody (G-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MRP-L44 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MRP-L44 (G-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MRP-L44, also known as mitochondrial ribosomal protein L44, plays a crucial role in mitochondrial protein synthesis, which is essential for proper mitochondrial function. This 332 amino acid protein serves as a vital component of the 39S ribosomal subunit, working alongside other mitochondrial ribosomal proteins to facilitate mitochondrial mRNA translation into functional proteins. MRP-L44 contains an RNase III domain and a double-stranded RNA-binding motif, both significant for RNA maturation and localization, highlighting MRP-L44′s importance in mitochondrial gene expression. The gene encoding MRP-L44 is located on human chromosome 2, a region encompassing over 1,400 genes and representing nearly 8% of the human genome, underscoring MRP-L44′s evolutionary significance and potential implications in mitochondrial-related diseases.
