    SEE ALSO...

MOSC2 Antibody (H-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MOSC2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MOSC2 (H-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MOSC2, also known as MOCO sulphurase C-terminal domain containing 2, is a 335 amino acid peripheral membrane protein primarily localized to mitochondria, where MOSC2 plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism. MOSC2 contains a MOSC domain and utilizes molybdenum as a cofactor, functioning as a key component of the benzamidoxime prodrug-converting complex, which also includes cytochrome β5 and NADH-cytochrome β5 reductase (CYB5R3). The interaction between MOSC2 and CYB5R3 is particularly important, as CYB5R3 is involved in essential processes such as fatty acid desaturation and elongation, cholesterol biosynthesis, and drug metabolism, as well as methemoglobin reduction in erythrocytes. The benzamidoxime prodrug-converting complex is vital for reducing N-hydroxylated structures, including benzamidoxime prodrugs, facilitating their conversion into active forms. MOSC2 exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms and is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 1q41, highlighting MOSC2′s significance in both normal physiology and potential pathological conditions.
