    SEE ALSO...

mitoNEET Antibody (AT1A8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects mitoNEET protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-mitoNEET antibody (AT1A8) is available as a non-conjugated format. MitoNEET, also known as CISD1 (CDGSH iron sulfur domain 1) or ZCD1, is a 108 amino acid single-pass type II membrane protein primarily localized to mitochondria, where mitoNEET plays a crucial role in cellular energy metabolism. MitoNEET′s localization is significant due to involvement in regulating electron transport capacity and oxidative phosphorylation, processes vital for ATP production in cells. MitoNEET exists as a homodimer and contains a CDGSH-type zinc finger, essential for binding iron as a cofactor. This interaction maintains mitochondrial function and overall cellular health. MitoNEET shows high expression in heart, liver, and skeletal muscle tissues, indicating importance in energy-demanding organs. Various factors modulate mitoNEET expression, including glibenclamide, an anti-diabetic drug that causes down-regulation, and isoproterenol, a synthetic catecholamine that triggers up-regulation, highlighting mitoNEET′s role in metabolic regulation and potential implications in diseases such as cystic fibrosis, where mitoNEET may interact with cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR).
