Mitofilin Antibody (B-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Mitofilin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Mitofilin, also known as IMMT, HMP, PIG4, or P87/89, is a crucial 758 amino acid inner mitochondrial membrane protein predominantly expressed in heart tissue, where anti-Mitofilin antibody (B-10) plays a vital role in maintaining mitochondrial cristae morphology. Mitofilin exists in three alternatively spliced isoforms, each contributing to the formation and organization of cristae junctions and normal tubular cristae, which are essential for efficient cellular respiration. The structural integrity of the cristae is critical, as Mitofilin provides a large surface area for the electron transport chain and ATP synthesis, thereby influencing overall mitochondrial function and energy production. Given Mitofilin′s significant role in mitochondrial dynamics and cell survival, Mitofilin monoclonal antibody (B-10) serves as an essential tool for researchers studying mitochondrial biology and related pathologies.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with Mitofilin (B-10): sc-390706?

Asked by: AbPolly
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
