MDL-12,330A • HCl is the hydrochloride salt preparation of MDL-12,330A, an inhibitor of A cyclase, PDE (cyclic AMP (cAMP) and cyclic GMP (cGMP) phosphodiesterases). MDL-12,330A is described to block K+-stimulated and histamine-stimulated cAMP formation. Inhibition of cAMP activity by MDL-12,330A has been employed to identify cAMP-mediated activity in myocardial inotropic functioning and in the regulation of nicotinic cholinergic synapses. MDL 12330A, an adenylyl cyclase inhibitor, not only hampers the adenylyl cyclase/cAMP signaling pathway but also impedes cAMP and cGMP phosphodiesterases, hindering their activity.
