SEE ALSO...

MBD2/3 Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects the MBD2/3 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MBD2/3 (D-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MBD2/3 plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression through involvement in DNA methylation, a key epigenetic modification that influences transcriptional activity. Specifically, MBD2 and MBD3 are part of the methyl-CpG binding domain protein family, which recognizes and binds to methylated cytosine residues in DNA, thereby mediating transcriptional repression. This interaction is vital for maintaining cellular identity and function, as aberrant methylation patterns can lead to various diseases, including cancer. MBD2 associates with histone deacetylase 1 (HDAC1) within the MeCP1 repressor complex, further enhancing transcriptional silencing capabilities. Expression of MBD proteins is predominantly observed in somatic tissues, highlighting their importance in the regulation of gene expression across different cell types. Using anti-MBD2/3 antibody (D-7) in research can provide insights into the mechanisms of gene regulation and the implications of DNA methylation in health and disease.
