MAB21L Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MAB21L protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MAB21L (A-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MAB21L, also known as CAGR1, is a 359 amino acid nuclear protein predominantly expressed in the cerebellum and skeletal muscle, playing a crucial role in embryonic development, particularly in eye and cerebellum formation. MAB21L′s structure belongs to the mab21 family, essential for cell fate determination during development. MAB21L shares similarities with the MAB-21 gene found in Caenorhabditis elegans, indicating a conserved function across species. Research suggests that expansion of a trinucleotide repeat region in MAB21L′s 5′ untranslated region may be implicated in various psychiatric disorders, highlighting MAB21L′s importance in both developmental biology and potential disease mechanisms. MAB21L is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 13, which contains over 400 genes, including critical tumor suppressor genes such as BRCA2 and RB1, and accounts for nearly 4% of the human genome. Abnormalities in this region are significant, as evidenced by Trisomy 13, or Patau syndrome, a severe genetic disorder associated with significant developmental challenges and high mortality rates.
