    SEE ALSO...

Latexin Antibody (8H5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Latexin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Latexin antibody (8H5) is available as a non-conjugated antibody and is crucial for studying the role of Latexin, also known as endogenous carboxypeptidase inhibitor (ECI) or tissue carboxypeptidase inhibitor (TCI), which belongs to the protease inhibitor I47 family of proteins. Latexin functions as a non-competitive, reversible inhibitor of metallocarboxypeptidases (MCPs), including CPA1, CPA2, and CPA4, making Latexin significant in regulating proteolytic activity in various physiological processes. Latexin is predominantly located in the cytoplasm and is highly expressed in tissues such as the heart, prostate, pancreas, ovary, kidney, brain, and colon, highlighting Latexin′s importance in diverse biological functions. The structure of Latexin consists of two topologically equivalent subdomains that exhibit low specificity in binding to MCPs, providing flexibility to inhibit all vertebrate A/B MCPs. This structural characteristic allows Latexin to modulate the activity of multiple enzymes, thereby influencing pain transmission and playing a role in inflammatory responses.
