KLRG1 Antibody (2F1) is a hamster monoclonal IgG antibody that detects KLRG1 protein of mouse and rat origin by immunoprecipitation (IP) and flow cytometry (FCM). KLRG1 (2F1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. The Killer cell lectin-like receptor G1 (KLRG1) plays a crucial role in the immune system, primarily expressed as a homodimer on natural killer (NK) cells and activated CD8 T cells, with a molecular weight of 30-38 kDa due to glycosylation. The regulation of KLRG1 expression is complex, as KLRG1 is induced through various molecular mechanisms in different immune cell subsets, which is vital for maintaining immune homeostasis. Notably, KLRG1 induction leads to the inhibition of NK cell-mediated cytotoxicity and cytokine production, highlighting KLRG1′s significant role in the termination of NK cell activation and the prevention of excessive immune responses. Additionally, KLRG1 has a rat homologue known as mast cell function-associated antigen (MAFA), which was initially isolated from the RBL-2H3 cell line and is expressed in rat mast cells and basophils, further emphasizing KLRG1′s importance in immune regulation across species.
