Ketotifen fumarate, a Histamine H1 receptor antagonist, has been noted to inhibit histamine release from lymphocytes and monocytes at 0.1-10 muM. Ketotifen has demonstrated inhibiting characteristics against mast cell growth, therefore reducing myofibroblast hyperplasia. This compound has displayed induction capacities in primary necrosis of interleukin-5-treated eosinophils. Ketotifen fumarate is an inhibitor of PDE.
