JAB1 Antibody (42) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects JAB1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). JAB1, also known as Jun-activation domain-binding protein, plays a crucial role in enhancing the transcriptional activity of Jun proteins by stabilizing their binding to the TPA-response element, which is vital for regulating gene expression in response to various stimuli. JAB1 is primarily located in the nucleus, where JAB1 interacts with c-Jun and Jun D, but not with Jun B or v-Jun, thereby forming specific complexes that modulate transcriptional responses. JAB1′s nuclear localization influences cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, making JAB1 a significant player in oncogenic signaling pathways. JAB1′s interaction with Ha-Ras further augments c-Jun activity, highlighting JAB1′s role in the intricate network of signaling that governs cellular responses to growth factors and stress. The gene encoding JAB1 is mapped to human chromosome 8q12.3, underscoring JAB1′s relevance in both normal physiology and disease states, including cancer.
