IKK-ε Antibody (C-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects IKK-ε in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IKK-ε, also known as IKBKE, is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a crucial role in the immune response by regulating the activation of the transcription factor NFκB. IKK-ε is primarily expressed in immune cells and is induced by stimuli such as lipopolysaccharide and proinflammatory cytokines, including TNFα, IL-1, and IL-6. IKK-ε phosphorylates IκBα at specific serine residues, leading to the degradation of IκB and subsequent release and activation of NFκB. This process is vital for the transcriptional regulation of genes involved in inflammation and immune responses. IKK-ε shares homology with other members of the IKK family, such as IKKα and IKKβ, and IKK-ε overexpression has been linked to enhanced phosphorylation of IκBα, indicating a potential role as an IκB kinase in the immune system. Anti-IKK-ε antibody (C-9) is an essential tool for researchers studying the mechanisms of NFκB activation and its implications in various diseases, including autoimmune disorders and cancer.
