HGK Antibody (5-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HGK protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-HGK antibody (5-12) is available as the non-conjugated form. HGK protein, also known as HPK/GC kinase-like kinase, mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase kinase 4, MAPK/ERK kinase kinase kinase 4, or NCK-interacting kinase (NIK), plays a crucial role in cellular signaling as a member of the serine/threonine kinase subfamily, Ste20. This subfamily includes several mammalian kinases that share sequence similarity with the yeast serine/threonine kinase Ste20, encompassing proteins such as KHS, GLK, YSK1, HPK1, Krs-1, Krs-2, and GC kinase. HGK activates the SAPK/JNK stress response pathway, which is vital for cellular responses to stress and inflammation. Through interaction with MEK kinase-1, HGK functions upstream in the SAPK/JNK signaling cascade, highlighting a role in regulating critical cellular processes. Both the kinase domain and C-terminal regulatory domain of HGK are essential for full activation, underscoring the intricate regulation of this signaling pathway.
