    HepaCAM Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgM kappa antibody that detects HepaCAM protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-HepaCAM antibody (B-7) is available as the non-conjugated form. HepaCAM, also known as hepatocyte cell adhesion molecule or GlialCAM, is a 416 amino acid single-pass type I membrane protein characterized by one immunoglobulin-like C2-type domain and one immunoglobulin-like V-type domain. HepaCAM (B-7) antibody targets a protein primarily localized to the cytoplasmic side of the membrane, where HepaCAM functions as a homodimer, playing a critical role in regulating cell-matrix interactions and cell motility. HepaCAM′s importance extends to involvement in suppressing cellular proliferation, suggesting a significant role in cell growth inhibition and tumor suppression, particularly in hepatocellular carcinoma. The cytoplasmic domain of HepaCAM is essential for maintaining cell-matrix adhesion; deletion of this domain leads to reduced adhesion capabilities, highlighting HepaCAM′s crucial function in cellular integrity. HepaCAM exists in two isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to diverse functional roles in various cellular contexts.
