QUICK LINKS

Gentamicin C1a is an antibacterial consisting of 3 closely related components (gentamicins C1, C2 and C1a). Also consists of a slightly different component of Gentamicin A and shares similarities to Kanamycin C. The structural analysis of this compound revealed that it is a semisynthetic gentamicin analog. It is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections, including those caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
