γ-crystallin Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects gamma-crystallin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-gamma-crystallin antibody (B-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Gamma-crystallins play a crucial role in maintaining the transparency and refractive index of the vertebrate eye lens, which is essential for proper vision. These proteins are primarily located in the lens fibers, where they contribute to the lens′s structural integrity and optical properties. The unique structural characteristics of gamma-crystallins, which typically exist as monomers and lack connecting peptides and terminal extensions, allow them to pack tightly together, minimizing light scattering and ensuring clarity. Additionally, the gamma-crystallin family includes several closely related proteins, such as γA, γB, γC, γD, γE, γF, and γG, as well as γN and γS, each of which is differentially regulated during development. Understanding the function and location of gamma-crystallins is vital, as alterations in their expression or structure can lead to cataract formation, highlighting their importance in ocular health.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-365256 P appropriate for?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
