GABA T-3 Antibody (G-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects GABA T-3 of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GABA T-3 (G-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GABA T-3, also known as GAT-3, is a critical component of the GABAergic system, functioning primarily as a high-affinity transporter that regulates gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) levels in the synaptic cleft. GABA T-3 is predominantly located in the brain, particularly in glial cells, where GABA T-3 plays a vital role in terminating GABA′s inhibitory action by facilitating reuptake into presynaptic terminals. Efficient recycling of GABA is essential for maintaining the balance of excitatory and inhibitory signals in the central nervous system, which is crucial for normal neuronal function and preventing excitotoxicity. GABA T-3′s ability to modulate GABA levels underscores GABA T-3′s importance in various neurological processes and potential implications in disorders characterized by GABA dysregulation.
