Ferritin light chain Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ferritin light chain of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ferritin light chain antibody (D-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Ferritin light chain plays a crucial role in iron metabolism, particularly in storage and release of iron within cells, which is vital for maintaining cellular iron homeostasis and preventing oxidative damage. Ferritin light chain, along with its heavy chain counterpart, forms a hollow spherical structure that can sequester up to 4,500 iron atoms in a non-toxic form, thus acting as a buffer against iron overload.
