FeLV gp85/gp70 Antibody (C11D8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG antibody that detects the Env gp85 and Env gp70 proteins of feline leukemia virus (FeLV) origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). FeLV gp85/gp70 (C11D8) antibody is available in a non-conjugated form, providing researchers with a versatile tool for studying this important retrovirus. The feline leukemia virus, primarily transmitted through saliva or nasal secretions, can also spread via urine, feces, or milk, leading to infection of epithelial cells, tonsillar B lymphocytes, and macrophages. Once in the bloodstream, FeLV can cause viremia and, if FeLV infiltrates the bone marrow, FeLV can persist for the cat′s lifetime, resulting in significant immunosuppression and a mortality rate of approximately 30% among infected individuals. Among the various envelope proteins associated with FeLV, glycoproteins gp27, gp70, and gp85 are critical for diagnosis and understanding the virus′s pathogenesis. Notably, the development of a high concentration of cytotoxic antibodies against FeLV gp70 has been linked to tumor regression and the potential clearance of FeLV infection, highlighting the importance of these proteins in both disease progression and therapeutic responses.

Which antigen retrival solution do you recommend for FeLV gp85/gp70 antibody? Citrat- or EDTA-solution?

Asked by: EQLabor
Thank you for your question. You can find our recommended antigen retrieval protocols by following this link: https://www.scbt.com/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining The ideal option for antigen retrieval depends strongly on the type of tissue and fixation method, so you will have to establish which option works best for your particular experimental setup.
