FAST-1/2 Antibody (H-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects FAST-1/2 in mouse and rat species through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FAST-1/2 is a crucial transcription factor that plays a significant role in embryonic development and cellular differentiation by forming a complex with the receptor-regulated Smad protein, Smad2, and binding to activin response elements on DNA. The protein′s structure includes a conserved N-terminal forkhead domain, which is essential for DNA-binding capability and transcriptional regulation, as well as a distinct C-terminal Smad interaction domain that facilitates association with various Smad proteins, including Smad2, Smad3, and Smad4. This structural organization is vital for mediating TGFβ-induced signal transduction, as FAST-1 and FAST-2 expression is predominantly observed during early developmental stages, with diminished levels in adult tissues. FAST-1/2′s ability to regulate gene expression in response to TGFβ and activin highlights its importance in developmental biology and tumorigenesis, making anti-FAST-1/2 antibody (H-7) an essential tool for researchers studying these critical processes.
