Das Reagenz Eprinomectin besteht aus zwei Komponenten: Eprinomectin B1a und Eprinomectin B1b. In Bezug auf die Produktion wird es häufig durch Fermentation durch bodenbewohnende Streptomyces erhalten. Eprinomectin fällt unter die Kategorie der Avermectine, die Makrozyklische Lactone sind. Eprinomectin dient auch als Endektocide und wirkt als semi-synthetischer GABA-Signalverstärker.
