    SEE ALSO...

EML4 Antibody (H.21) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects EML4 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-EML4 antibody (H.21) is available as the non-conjugated format. EML4, or Echinoderm microtubule-associated protein-like 4, is a vital cytoplasmic protein composed of 981 amino acids and characterized by the presence of nine WD repeats. EML4 plays a significant role in microtubule assembly dynamics, particularly during mitosis when expression levels increase. Through modification of assembly dynamics, EML4 contributes to microtubule elongation and flexibility, which is crucial for proper cell division and overall cellular function. EML4 is implicated in lung cancer development due to a chromosomal inversion on chromosome 2p, leading to an EML4-ALK fusion protein with anaplastic lymphoma receptor tyrosine kinase. This fusion complex is associated with oncogenic signaling pathways, highlighting EML4′s importance in both normal cellular processes and cancer pathogenesis.

Does this antibody detect the N-terminal region of EML4?

    Asked by: ClaraJ
Thank you for your question. Anti-EML4 Antibody (H.21): sc-130450 was raised against recombinant EML4 of human origin. No epitope mapping has been performed for this antibody yet, so the exact epitope region is unknown.

Can sc-130450: EML4 (H.21) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-130450: EML4 (H.21) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
