Dysadherin Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Dysadherin in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Dysadherin, also known as FXYD domain-containing ion transport regulator 5, plays a critical role in cancer progression by down-regulating E-cadherin, the key protein responsible for maintaining cell-cell adhesion in epithelial tissues. This down-regulation occurs through a posttranscriptional mechanism, which ultimately reduces intercellular adhesion and facilitates the metastasis of cancer cells, making Dysadherin a significant marker in cancer research. Dysadherin is predominantly located in the cell membrane, particularly in tissues such as the spleen, lung, skeletal muscle, and testis, and is mapped to human chromosome 19q13. Dysadherin expression in these tissues underscores potential impact on cellular interactions and tumor biology, highlighting importance as a target for therapeutic interventions and diagnostic applications. Anti-Dysadherin antibody (D-2) is an essential tool for researchers investigating the mechanisms of cancer metastasis and the role of cell adhesion in tumor progression.
